The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) has endorsed Kashyap (Kash) Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee for the position of Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

AAHOA, which represents over 60 percent of all hotels in the United States, highlighted Patel’s background in counterterrorism and public service as key qualifications for the role.

According to a news release, AAHOA, which consists largely of Indian American entrepreneurs from Gujarat, has actively worked on initiatives such as combating human trafficking, an issue closely aligned with the FBI’s mission.

"Kash Patel's nomination is a significant moment," said AAHOA chairman Miraj S. Patel. "His background in counterterrorism and public service provides valuable expertise for addressing complex security issues."

"Our members have built a legacy of hard work and dedication," said AAHOA president and CEO Laura Lee Blake. "We are committed to addressing important societal issues, such as combating human trafficking, and look forward to seeing continued progress under strong leadership at the FBI."

AAHOA has been involved in anti-human trafficking efforts through educational programs, certification initiatives, and partnerships with organizations like Businesses Ending Slavery & Trafficking (BEST). The organization believes Patel’s experience in national security will contribute to these ongoing efforts.

AAHOA is the largest hotel owners association in the world, with its members responsible for 1.7 percent of the U.S. GDP and supporting 4.2 million jobs across the hospitality sector.
