Arizona State University (ASU) has announced a partnership with India’s Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) to expand academic opportunities for Indian students.
The collaboration aims to introduce new undergraduate and master's degree programs in engineering, computer science, and business and management studies, providing students with enhanced global education pathways.
As part of the initiative, REC will join the ASU-Cintana Alliance, a global network of universities spanning Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. The partnership will allow REC to leverage ASU’s extensive academic resources and research collaborations while further strengthening ASU’s international presence.
“With India as our largest source of international students, this partnership with REC strengthens our mission to expand access to exceptional education and empower students with the skills needed to excel in a globalized workforce,” said ASU president Michael M. Crow as reported by Punjab News Express.
Abhay Meganathan, vice chairman of Rajalakshmi Institutions, described the collaboration as a pivotal step in broadening REC’s academic offerings. “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in expanding REC's academic offerings. Together with ASU, we are dedicated to empowering students with transformative experiences that combine academic excellence with real-world application. The new programs will integrate REC's strong academic foundation with ASU's globally recognized expertise,” he said.
The partnership underscores ASU’s commitment to fostering global educational opportunities and supporting Indian students in pursuing international academic and professional success.
