Indian filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli's acclaimed epic saga "Bahubali" is poised to enthrall audiences once more, this time through an animated series titled "Bahubali: Crown of Blood."
Produced by Rajamouli, Sharad Devarajan, and Shobu Yarlagadda, the series is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar on May 17, 2024.
The upcoming series, directed by Jeevan J. Kang and Navin John and produced by Rajamouli, will serve as prequel to the blockbuster films and offer a deeper exploration of the expansive kingdom of Mahishmati, featuring the iconic characters Bahubali and Bhallaladeva as they unite to defend the kingdom against the menacing warlord Raktadeva.
When the people of Mahishmati chant his name, no force in the universe can stop him from returning.

The animated series, a collaboration between Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks, will unveil new layers of the narrative, including "unknown twists" in the lives of Bahubali and Bhallaladeva, along with long-forgotten secrets that the two brothers must confront to safeguard Mahishmati.
Rana Dagubatti, who portrayed Bhallaladeva in the original films, expressed excitement for the continuation of the "Bahubali" legacy in animated form, anticipating that the new chapter will unravel mysteries of the Bahubali universe.
Rajamouli expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "The world of Baahubali is vast, and the film franchise was the perfect introduction. However, there’s so much more to explore, and that’s where 'Bahubali: Crown of Blood' comes into play," as quoted by GlamSham Entertainment magazine.
