To commemorate the momentous inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a special program recently took place at over 100 BAPS Swaminarayan Mandirs across North America.
Under the guidance of Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS organized a multitude of devotional programs at 1,500 mandirs and 21,000 Satsang assemblies globally.
The temples were transformed into displays of devotion, adorned with sparkling lights, glowing diyas, and intricate rangolis depicting Lord Ram and the new mandir.
Adding to the festivities, a meticulously prepared, elaborate Annakut was featured, showcasing treats such as cookies and temple-shaped cakes inscribed with 'Shri Ram.’
“The Ramayan teaches us many lessons, one of them being about the words we use. Speak that which is true, that which is kind, and that which is good for others,” said Yogananddas Swami in his discourse on the special occasion in Robbinsville, NJ.
The event at NJ was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Swami Debopriyanandji (Bharat Sevashram Sangha of North America), Consul A. K. Vijayakrishnan (Consulate General of India, New York), Amit Chopra (Town Council of Robbinsville), Jai Gulati (school board member of Robbinsville), and many others.
“After 14 years of exile into the forests, when Bhagwan (Lord) Shri Ram returned to Ayodhya, everyone experienced immense joy. A similar boundless joy is being experienced by millions of devotees today,” Swami Maharaj said in a letter on the inauguration of the Ram Mandir.
In addition, BAPS devotees celebrated by adorning their homes and temples with diyas and lamps, echoing the traditions of Diwali. They also virtually participated in the inauguration ceremony webcast from Ayodhya on January 22. BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha received an invitation to the event, and senior swamis from BAPS represented the organization, with HH Mahant Swami Maharaj virtually joining the celebrations from Gujarat, India.
The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) is a spiritual, volunteer-driven organization committed to enhancing society through individual growth by promoting the Hindu ideals of faith, unity, and selfless service.
