Biden nominates Deven Parekh to IDFC board

President Donald Trump first proposed him for the position in June 2020.

Prominent Indian American venture capitalist Deven J. Parekh has been nominated by President Joe Biden for a three-year term on the board of directors of the US International Development Finance Corporation (IDFC).

Currently a managing director at the New York City-based growth equity investment fund Insight Partners, Parekh was first nominated for the position by President Donald Trump in June 2020.

Since joining Insight in 2000, Parekh has made more than 140 investments in enterprise software, data, and consumer internet companies across the globe, as stated on his White House page. In addition to his position at Insight, he is a member of the International Peace Foundation, Development Finance Corporation, NYU Langone, Tisch New York MS Research Center, Council on Foreign Relations, and Economic Club of New York boards.

Parekh has previously held positions on the Technical Advisory Council of the Federal Communications Commission, the Advisory Board of the US Export-Import Bank, and the Board of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.

The Indian American currently holds the position of chairman emeritus of the Board of Publicolor, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting New York City public education. In 2021, he was bestowed with the esteemed Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award. He is also an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow.
