Ahead of the upcoming general election, the 'Overseas Friends' of BJP UK organized a car rally in London to showcase their unwavering support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The rally, which saw participation from over 250 cars, was held following the announcement of the Lok Sabha poll schedule by CEC Rajiv Kumar. Starting at the Kuth Leva Patidar Samaj Complex in Northolt, the rally concluded at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Neaden.

UK Parliamentarian and Padma Shri recipient, Bob Blackman, participated in the rally alongside members of the Indian diaspora. Addressing the gathering at the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple, Blackman expressed his support for the rally's cause. The diaspora members in Britain were seen proudly holding up both the Indian Tricolour and BJP flags during the event.

During his speech, Blackman emphasized the importance of the rally and highlighted the crucial role of the Indian diaspora in influencing the future of their home country. He described the upcoming general elections in India as the 'largest democratic exercise in the world.'
The diaspora also took part in cultural programs and prayers during the London Car Rally. Children performed a Ganesh prayer before the start of the rally.
The conservative MP also praised British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, urging people, including the Indian diaspora, to support him for his re-election in the polls.
The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The general polls will be held in 7 phases from Apr. 19 to Jun. 1, with counting scheduled for Jun. 4.
