Voice of SAP (Specially Abled People), a global advocacy organization in Special Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC, raised over US$ 1 million in its annual fundraiser on Sept. 21, 2024, to empower specially abled people in India.
The event, held in Artesia, California, drew prominent local philanthropists, dignitaries, volunteers, and donors, including VOSAP Igniters.
The Artesia City Council honored VOSAP’s mission with a Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Tony Lima, presented by Pro Tem Mayor Ali Sajjad Taj to VOSAP founder Pranav Desai. Desai highlighted the organization's transformative impact on over 27,000 lives and shared his Vision 2047, aiming to enable specially abled individuals to contribute up to US$1 trillion to India's economy by 2047.
Desai emphasized the economic multiplier effect, explaining that a US$100 donation could generate up to US$ 10,000 in economic benefits. He also introduced Project HITARTH, launched in May 2024, which strengthens the Indian government's NIRAMAYA program by paying social workers to assist families of intellectually disabled individuals in accessing healthcare services worth up to Rs 1 lakh.
VOSAP chief patrons Shri Manubhai and Rikaben Shah further energized the event by pledging to match up to US$ 500,000 in donations, inspiring attendees to surpass the evening’s fundraising goals.
Youth ambassador Sparsh Shah captivated the audience with a soulful performance, while volunteers Dr. Dhiren Buch and Priyanka Dujari also entertained, creating an atmosphere of compassion and generosity.
