This is Tandon’s first Grammy win, though she was previously nominated in 2011 for her album Om Namo Narayana: Soul Call in the Best Contemporary World Music Album category. A Chennai native and a global business leader, Tandon is the older sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi. She studied at Madras Christian College and later earned a master’s degree from IIM Ahmedabad.
Following her win, the Consulate General of India in New York congratulated Tandon on social media, stating, “A mesmerizing fusion of ancient mantras, flute, and cello, Triveni bridges cultures and traditions through the universal language of music.”
Tandon shared her gratitude in an Instagram post: “A moment that reminds me that music is love, music ignites the light within all of us, and, even in our darkest days, music spreads joy and laughter.”
The 67th Grammy Awards also saw high-profile moments, including Kanye West and Bianca Censori being escorted out by police and Hollywood actor Will Smith making his first major awards show appearance since the 2022 Academy Awards controversy.
