Building upon its successful youth football initiatives, Dream Sports Foundation (DSF) is set to revolutionize the table tennis landscape with the launch of the first-ever U-15 international tournament, the Dream Sports Championship Table Tennis 2025. Supported by the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), the event will take place from March 17 to 22 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

The tournament will feature 60 highly skilled athletes, 30 male and 30 female, selected from across India based on their national rankings. A unique aspect of the competition is the inclusion of 12 international participants from six federations: Sweden, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Kazakhstan. This initiative aims to provide Indian athletes with crucial early exposure to international competition.

"Building on our football tournament’s impact, we are proud to introduce the U-15 table tennis tournament," stated Bhavit Sheth, COO and co-founder of Dream Sports. "By inviting international players, we aim to provide our Indian athletes with an opportunity to get global exposure early in their competitive careers. Thanks to TTFI’s support, we’re confident this initiative will help discover India’s next table tennis stars, and strengthen our commitment to long-term athlete development, aligning with our vision to Make Sports Better."

Beyond the competitive matches, the tournament will focus on fostering knowledge sharing and best practices. As part of DSF’s Dream Again initiative, renowned figures from the Indian table tennis fraternity, including five-time Olympian Sharath Kamal, Commonwealth Games 2022 gold medalist Sreeja Akula, and Indian National Team coach Massimo Costantini, will conduct master classes for aspiring players, coaches, technical officials, and parents. Elite coaches Chris Pfeiffer and Deepak Malik will also be providing guidance to young players.

The workshops will delve into crucial areas such as sports science, sports psychology, game strategy, fitness, and technology-driven performance analysis, reinforcing DSF’s commitment to holistic athlete development.

Kamlesh Mehta, general secretary of TTFI, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We’re happy to join forces with the Dream Sports Foundation for the inaugural U-15 Table Tennis Dream Sports Championship. This marks a key step in creating a platform for future table tennis players in the country. The championship will provide athletes with a valuable opportunity to compete not only with talent from the country but across the world. It will also play a key role in fostering athlete growth through knowledge sharing masterclasses and latest analytical interventions. This initiative will additionally help us to identify promising future prospects.”

The championship will follow a structured format, including group stages, super league, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals. Each group will feature one international athlete, providing invaluable exposure to Indian participants.

The Super League stages, commencing on March 21, 2025, will be streamed live on Fancode, allowing fans across the nation to witness the thrilling action.
