Cognizant inaugurates new facility in Odisha

The facility is located in Odisha Technology Center in Bhubaneswar.

Odisha’s CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the first facility of American multinational IT firm Cognizant in the city of Bhubaneswar on February 11. 
The facility, located at the Odisha Technology Center, is spread across 51,000 sq. ft. to foster innovation and collaboration. It can accommodate up to 800 associates in the initial phase. 

According to a statement by the firm, subsequently in the second phase, an additional 29,000 sq. ft. will be integrated, to meet the evolving needs of clients and associates. 

It offers modern and collaborative spaces for associates to work on a broad range of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), digital engineering, and robotic automation, among others.

“Glad to inaugurate the new facility of @Cognizant, one of the largest global professional services companies, in #Bhubaneswar. Cognizant's entry into our state marks a major leap towards #NewOdisha, adding another golden chapter to #Odisha's remarkable journey in the IT sector,” Patnaik posted on X. 
“Our newest facility in Bhubaneswar was inaugurated in the presence of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri @Naveen_Odisha and our CEO @imravikumars,” Cognizant wrote on X sharing images from the event.
 



Cognizant’s CEO Ravi Kumar S in a social media post expressed his view of the company’s expansion. “As a part of our stated expansion into smaller cities and taking work to where the talent is, we start with the beautiful city of Bhubaneswar which boasts of a great academic ecosystem and a large community of tech services companies,” he posted on social media. 

Teaneck, New Jersey-based Cognizant already has a presence in several Indian cities, including Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kochi, Mangalore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Coimbatore, and Chennai.
