Copart Inc. appoints Neel Madhvani as chief product officer

Texas-based online auction service provider Copart Inc. has announced the appointment of Indian American Neel Madhvani as its chief product officer. Three other executives were appointed to lead the company from the headquarters and report to co-chief executive officer Jeff Liaw.
Madhvani will head Copart’s new product development initiatives, in close partnership with sales, marketing, operations, and technology, as per the company's statement. Additionally, Steve Powers has been appointed as chief business development officer; Dave Kang as chief marketing officer; and Hessel Varhage as the chief operating officer.
Commenting on the new appointments, Copart’s Co-CEO Jeff Liaw said, “I am delighted to appoint these four exceptional leaders to their new positions."
“I am also excited about appointing Dave, Neel and Hessel to their new roles. Dave brings extensive experience in marketing and auto finance; Neel brings relevant experience to develop our Product capabilities; and Hessel brings substantial operational leadership experience to our team. They and the exceptional people on their teams will help drive our company forward," he added.
Madhvani has extensive product development experience. He previously served as vice principal of product at Chewy and in product development, marketing, strategy, and innovation roles at Boxed and Staples. He is also a board member of Pidilite Industries (USA).
He earned his MBA and an MS in information systems from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University.
