Netflix is set to launch its latest crime series, “Killer Soup,” on January 11.  Directed and co-written by Abhishek Chaubey, the show features actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, and Lal.

Set against the backdrop of Mainjur in South India, “Killer Soup” weaves a tale inspired by a news headline. The plot revolves around Swathi Shetty, an aspiring yet talentless home chef, who hatches an unconventional plan to replace her husband, Prabhakar, with her lover, Umesh. However, the inclusion of a bumbling local inspector and amateur villains adds unexpected twists, turning the narrative into a recipe for chaos.

Chaubey expressed his vision for the series, stating, “With ‘Killer Soup,’ we wanted to give the audience permission to laugh and also be totally shocked with a crime thriller that blends in humor and quirkiness.”

Tanya Bami, director of series at Netflix India, highlighted the anticipation for the show in 2024, stating, “Abhishek Chaubey’s Killer Soup is a great way for us to start the new year. It’s a genre audiences love, a crime thriller, like no other. Crazy, quirky, and bizarre.”

“Killer Soup” promises a unique viewing experience, combining the elements of crime, humor, and a stellar cast, ensuring that audiences are in for an entertaining ride, Netflix said in a statement.
