The 2024 Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) Awards bestowed 25 awards during a ceremony which took place in Mumbai on February 20, 2024.
‘Jawan' actor Shah Rukh Khan was conferred the Best Actor award, while his co-star in the film Nayanthara was presented with the Best Actress award. The film directed by Atlee claimed the Best film award.
Moreover, Atlee received the Best Director (critics) award while Anirudh Ravinchander won the Best Music Director award for the film. ‘Jawan’ which was released in September last year outperformed at the box office worldwide. It also features actors such as Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Deepika Padukone, and Sanjay Dutt.
The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ gained recognition under three categories. Sandeep Reddy Vanga bagged the Best Director award, actor Bobby Doel bagged Best Actor in Negative Role and Anil Kapoor received Best Actor for a Supporting Role.
Actors Sanya Malhotra and Ayushmann Khurrana won awards for their comic roles in the movies ‘Kathal’ and ‘Dream Girl 2’ respectively. Rani Mukerji also won the Best Actress award for ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’. Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra's ‘12th Fail’ bagged the best film award under the critics category.
Meanwhile, ‘Oppenheimer’ was recognized as the best international feature film.
Actor Moushumi Chatterjee was recognized for Outstanding Contribution to the Film Industry. The Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry award was conferred to music composer KJ Yesudas.
On the OTT front, Raj & DK's web series ‘Farzi’ bagged the Best Web Series award, while ‘The Railway Men’ was recognized under the critics category. Farzi-starrer Shahid Kapoor won the best actor award. Actor Aditya Roy Kapur was recognized as the Best Actor under Citics category for his role in ‘Night Manager’.
