The terrorist attack on Hindu tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam has upset the diaspora community in the US.
Adapa Prasad, the President of Overseas Friends of BJP-USA, says the Indian diaspora community is upset and angry because incidents like this has been happening for the last 25 to 35 years. He told New India Abroad that the whole world knows that Pakistan is a den of terrorism.
“They sponsor terrorism and sponsored terrorism against India. It's a war basically a cheap war they can conduct so the people are very angry and basically they are organizing a results and protest across cities in the United States,” Prasad said.
“There is no doubt that Pakistan is behind this heinous act and to give credence to that Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir just two days before this incident talked about Hindus and Muslims, how they are different and all that maybe he has his own reasons because he's the most unpopular general in Pakistan.”
Dr Bharat Barai, Medical Director of the Cancer Institute, Methodist Hospitals, believes the terrorist attack has united people in India across all religions, political parties, and ideologies. He told New India Abroad that they unitedly condemn the repressive murder of 26 innocent civilians.

“These were tourists who were enjoying an afternoon and Kashmir had seen a big resurgence in tourism in the last two years. The people of Kashmir were very happy. They’re getting a lot of business, the hotels, the shikaras, and the restaurants. Once these murders occurred, most of the tourists left Kashmir.”
Barai said it will take more security, more reassurance or some time before the tourists flock back in the same numbers that they did this season. He highlighted Pakistani army chief Asim Munir, who may have ignited the whole thing. “I watched his speech which was very atrocious. It was almost like Osama bin Laden or a Hamas leader.”
