Disha organizes yoga meet in Riyadh

The event was organized in collaboration with the Saudi Yoga Committee, a part of the Olympic Committee under the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia.

Disha, a leading social and cultural organization in Saudi Arabia, organized the Disha Yoga Meet 2024 as part of the 10th International Yoga Day celebrations.

Thousands of people including diplomats, social workers, community leaders and yoga instructors from countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia participated in the elaborate events organized in the capital Riyadh and Dammam in the Eastern Province.

Organized in collaboration with the Saudi Yoga Committee, a part of the Olympic Committee under the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia, the program began with yoga demonstrations following international yoga protocol. Following that, various art forms representing different states of India were also staged.

Embassy of Nepal Ambassador Navraj Subedi inaugurated the celebrations held in Riyadh under the chairmanship of Disha Saudi National president Kanakalal. Saudi Yoga Committee board member Dua Al-Arabi delivered the keynote speech. Embassy of Bangladesh First Secretary, Press Culture and Education, Asaduzzaman Khan Muhyatithi was the guest of honor.

Arab Yoga Foundation representative Haifa Alatiki, Saudi Yoga Committee representative Neeran AlOmran, Dr. Anwar Khurshid, Shihab Kotukad, V. Unnikrishnan and RT Girilal addressed the gathering. Yoga protocol was introduced by Dr. Meera. MJ Sajin, Haifa Alatiki and Bhasma Wahbi led the protocol demonstration. Padmini U Nair presided over the art festival.

 

Disha National general secretary Rajendran Cheryal presided over the celebration in Dammam. Saudi Yoga Committee vice chairman Ala Jamal Alil was the chief guest. Arab Yoga Foundation representative Hawa Al Dawood, Nepal Embassy representative Narayan Paswan, L&T Country joint general manager Sameer Al Umairin, Samil Shipyard general manager Alster Bissett, International Indian School Dammam chairman Sanoj Pillai, International Indian School Jubail representative RTR Prabhu, Disha Dammam regional coordinator Pramod and others spoke. Disha national advisor Ganesh Babu presented gifts to the guests on the occasion.
