Thousands gathered at Bridgewater Commons for the town’s first large Diwali celebration on Nov. 2, 'Diwali @ The Commons'. Organized with Renascent Media, the festival celebrated light over darkness and united the community in joy.
The event began with ceremonial diya lighting by Bridgewater Mayor Matthew Moench, Councilman Michael Kirsch, and community leaders.
Tom Kovacic of Bridgewater Commons called it “a privilege to honor our South Asian community,” while Renascent Media’s Tanvi Prenita Chandra noted, “This event beautifully highlighted Indian heritage and its growing place in mainstream America.”

The event featured a captivating lineup of performances, beginning with a graceful and spiritual Odissi prayer dance by Nadia Neubert, who performed a traditional invocation, Mangalacharan. Navrang Dance Academy followed with a theatrical retelling of Lord Rama's epic journey, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
The program concluded with an energetic Bollywood dance showcase by the Satrangi School of Fusion, blending classical and contemporary styles that delighted guests of all ages.
Families enjoyed henna art, diya painting, Indian sweets, and a prize giveaway from sponsors like Lotus Art Boutique, Sephora, and Bloomingdale’s. The celebration concluded with an Arti ceremony, symbolizing unity and hope.
South Asian TV networks covered the event, and social media influencers amplified it, spreading Bridgewater's Diwali spirit far and wide.
