Dr Anand Kuruvilla, a distinguished figure in the field of radiation oncology, has been recognised by The Inner Circle magazine as a top pinnacle professional for his outstanding contributions to the field of radiation oncology.
Hailing from Kerala, India, Dr Kuruvilla completed his postgraduate oncology training in England before immigrating to the United States in 1982.He earned an American post-graduate degree in radiation oncology from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York, where he served as the chief resident during his final year.
Dr Kuruvilla is board-certified in radiation oncology, specialising in treating various adult cancers with irradiation. He has been the director of radiation oncology at Cancer Center of Putnam since 1991. He has been recognised for playing a major role in providing unparalleled radiation oncology services to Putnam County residents in Northeast Florida.
Under his leadership, The Cancer Center of Putnam has received the APEX accreditation, a prestigious quality badge from the American Society of Therapeutic Oncology, achieved by only a select few Cancer Centers in Florida.
Dr Kuruvilla also is a fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology (FACRO) and is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, as well as the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
“The doctor is known for being very civic-minded and has lead many philanthropic initiatives, the most prominent in his estimation being a founder member of the Putnam First Cancer Fund and being a Rotary Club of Palatka member,” a release stated.
