Prominent Indian doctor Dr Shiv K Sarin has suggested appointing health attachés who could attend to emergency medical cases, at all Indian consulates in the US.

Dr Sarin was speaking at a felicitation event organized at the consul office in New York held to honor his recent achievement of writing a book titled ‘Own Your Body’.

“I have a feeling, and I have conveyed it to the consulate general, that we should have a health attaché. All the consulates [in the US] should have it and the attaché need not come from India. A health attaché can be a local attending to emergency health attacks and you can have one or more of such health attachés being run by the people who are living here itself,” Dr Sarin said at the event.
