Dr Suresh Reddy wins reelection to be Oak Brook Trustee

He was one of the four candidates running to be Trustee for the three openings that were contested.

Dr Suresh Reddy, a Trustee for the Oakbrook township in Illinois, has won a second term in the elections held on Apr. 1. He was one of the four candidates running to be Trustee for the three openings that were contested.

In a statement, Reddy expressed gratitude, and pointed that his victory belongs to every resident who believes in a united, forward-thinking, and inclusive Oak Brook. “Your faith in me renews my commitment to serve with integrity, transparency, and purpose,” Reddy said. “I am honored to serve alongside Jim Nagle and Dr Melissa Martin – two outstanding individuals whose unique talents will be invaluable to our community.”

Suresh Reddy, who is a physician by profession, shared that he is more determined than ever to represent every corner of their vibrant community. “Oak Brook stands at a pivotal moment in its growth and development. I firmly believe that through open dialogue, mutual respect, and shared visions, we can continue to shape a village we’re all proud to call home.”

He added that elections may divide them, but governance unites. “During this campaign, I’ve reached out personally to over a thousand residents via door knocking, phone, and texts, and I will continue to listen, engage, and serve with humility.”

Reddy thanked several key leaders of his hometown Oak Brook, which is a suburb in the state of Illinois, including the sitting Mayor Larry Herman and members of the governing body of Oak Brook for endorsing and supporting his candidacy to be a Trustee of Oak Brook.

He highlighted Michael Manzo – one of his earliest political mentors. “Your guidance and encouragement have meant a great deal. Michael is the longest-tenured Trustee and pro-term President, who always stands up for the people of Oak Brook and against government waste. He is laser-focused on the betterment of our wonderful village.”

Dr Suresh Reddy grew up in the suburbs of Hyderabad in Southern India. He always had a passion for uniting and bringing people together. Reddy shared his childhood saying he used to bring neighborhood kids together to play ‘gully cricket’, bring people together in college to organize events, demonstrations and educational tours.

“Bringing opposing parties to the table for resolving issues has always been my strong strength. I always had a strong passion for bringing a positive outlook and giving back to the community.”

Reddy has been involved in several alumni activities and raised funds to build a million-dollar alumni educational center for his Alma Mater. 

He completed his advanced medical training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and has stayed on Harvard Faculty for more than a decade. Reddy has also served as Chief of Interventional Neuroradiology.

Reddy is also the Past President of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI).
