Dr TV Rao, a well-known figure in human resource development (HRD) circles in India, has been appointed to the board of advisors at Coacharya, a Los Angeles-based provider of accredited coach training and coaching programs.
Regarded as one of the “Fathers of human resources development in India,” Dr Rao’s pioneering contributions include the development of a revolutionary leadership development methodology, which laid the foundation for the 360-Degree Feedback system in the USA, according to a statement by the company.
Expressing excitement about the collaboration, Pranav Ramanathan, CEO of Coacharya, remarked, “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. TV Rao to our Board of Advisors. His extensive experience and visionary leadership in Human Resource Development perfectly complement our mission of democratizing coaching, particularly within educational institutions.”
Dr Rao, who served as a professor at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad for over two decades, will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Coacharya, the firm said.
Responding to his appointment, Dr Rao stated, “I’m honored to join Coacharya’s Board of Advisors, not just as an observer, but as a hands-on contributor. Our partnership aims to make coaching a staple in education, bringing practicality and impact to the forefront of holistic learning.”
Coacharya is working towards democratizing coaching across various sectors, with a particular emphasis on educational institutions. Through partnerships with organizations like Jaipur Rugs, Teach For India, and We-Ace, it has already started implementing systemic team coaching projects and initiatives.
The new board member’s mission is to integrate coaching into the education system in line with Coacharya’s commitment to holistic learning. The firm aims to empower children as young as 8 or 9 years old with coaching skills, facilitated by parents and teachers.
Recognizing the crucial role of school principals, Dr Rao emphasized the importance of equipping them with coaching techniques, thus contributing to a more holistic and ethically grounded education system.
