‘Dumbest statement of the year’: White House mocks filmmaker’s pro-immigration remarks

The White House issued a scathing response to filmmaker and activist Michael Moore after he criticized the Donald Trump administration’s deportation policies, calling his remarks “a strong contender for dumbest statement of the year”.

Moore, in a blog post on Feb.25 titled "Our Muslim Boy Wonder”, warned that deporting undocumented immigrants could mean losing future innovators, including those capable of curing cancer or preventing catastrophic events. He referenced Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, whose biological father was a Syrian migrant, as an example of the contributions immigrants have made to the U.S.
