On Apr.28, when Canada votes to elect its 45th House of Commons, candidates of East Indian origin will be testing their political acceptability in 51 of 338 ridings. They include 18 of the 21 Members of the outgoing House. The remaining three – Harjit Singh Sajjan, Arif Virani and Chandra Arya – would be missing from one of the fiercest and most absorbing contests that have also brought back two former Members - Amarjeet Singh Sohi and Parm Gill – to the contest.
