Elite Magazine recognises influential Indians at Statue of Liberty

It was the first Indian event to take place at the iconic Statue of Liberty.

The Kamala Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust in association with Elite Magazine and Fork Media Group recently presented Elite 50's Most Influential Indians Awards at the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

Led by Nidarshana Gowani and Ramesh Gowani, the philanthropic foundation collaborated as sponsor with Elite magazine India's owner, Puraskar Thadani, to honor outstanding Indians who have made their mark worldwide.

The honourees included spiritual leader Gaur Gopal Das; entrepreneur Ashneer Grover; chef Vikas Khanna; Shivika Goenka of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group; actor Jacqueline Fernandez; aviation entrepreneur Kanika Tekriwal; dean of Dean of New York University Stern School of Business, Raghu Sundaram; singer Rashmeet Kaur, TV personality Seema Taparia, and entrepreneur and angel investor Vishesh Khurana.

Ramesh Gowani, representing the Trust, presented the awards to the distinguished individuals. Puraskar Thadani, editor and publisher of Elite Magazine, was quoted calling it "historic moment" by media reports.

The Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust contributes for the welfare of children, women empowerment, development of less-privileged sections of the society and cancer patients.
