Born in the illustrious family of the Roshans is a boon in itself, but for the Roshans themselves, each generation has seen their own sets of ups and downs. But coming out successful has always been their forte. Here are a few instances when Hrithik Roshan proved he had the Roshan blood running through his veins.

KAHO NAA PYAAR HAI

This January, 2000 release getting re-released in the theatres like they did to their superhit film Karan Arjun, itself tells you how much the fans loved and adored the film. And to think, Hrithik didn't know how to tell his father that he wanted to be an actor. It was his then girlfriend, later wife Suzanne who encouraged him to voice his dreams to his dad.

THE SUCCESS OF KAHO NAA PYAAR HAI...

Made... him want to quit Bollywood altogether. Post the success of the film, the news of the staggering overseas business that the film made spreading all over the news channels was enough to make goons want to use the Roshan family as an example for extortion and more. Assailants from the Budesh gang shot at Rakesh Roshan and left him gravely injured. Hrithik Roshan was so devastated that he contemplated quitting films and never seeing the camera again.

A NON-HERO...

Hrithik Roshan might be one of the most loved superstars of the country, he has a fan following that others can only vie for, and yet, there was a time his own family wondered if he has what it takes to be an actor. He was a scrawny youngster who just couldn't put on any muscle mass. His extra thumb was considered 'unslightly', and they felt that the audience might not accept that 'flaw'.

SUCCESS CAME WITH A DIFFERENT SET OF FEARS...

Hrithik had a stutter which he had defeated with hard work and determination. However, there was one section of society he feared meeting-children. Kids being innocent, and almost always without diplomacy and sometimes even kindness, wouldn't understand why he talked the way he was talking. Many having laughed and poked fun at his stammer too, his experiences resulted in him developing a phobia towards fan interactions.

HE OVERCAME... ALWAYS

Stammering was not the only issue Hrithik overcame. At the age of 21, he was diagnosed with scoliosis and rheumatism of the knee. While usually it is a mild, skeletal disorder, Hrithik was advised not to dance at all. For someone whose heart was set on dancing, he just could not accept such a cruel fate. So he did what his heart told him to... he danced like there was no tomorrow. Till today, his dance moves are not only applauded but amongst the most emulated ones. It almost seems like the Lord's reward that he is touted as one of the best dancers in Bollywood.

METHODICALLY YOURS...

There are many who claim that Aamir Khan is synonymous with perfectionism but Hrithik comes a close second or even in the same league. The actor is often seen pushing himself to do stunts which others would have asked a body double to perform. In fact, when he signed up to play a paraplegic for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish, he put on a lot of weight to look convincing as a man who has been in a wheelchair for years. The excess weight caused a lot of health issues but HR wouldn't have it any other way.
He is so dedicated towards his profession and so into adventure sports that he performed all three stunts- bull chasing, sky diving and underwater diving, himself in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

NO GREEK GOD BUT YANKOVICH...

One of Bollywood's most handsome men, that's often been a title associated with Hrithik Roshan. He is amongst the few Bollywood actors who has been admired and adored by both men and women. So it is rather surprising if you hear just how Hrithik pictures himself, especially if he is wearing glasses. The modest actor actually believes that his nerdy look makes him resemble Yankovich the Weird Ai man.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS...

Hrithik, today is considered one of the most humble actors of B-town. He claims he is just living his life the way his parents taught him to. For instance, there is a lot of debate about nepotism today, but when Hrithik decided to join the film industry, he didn't just use his surname. He started off sweeping the floors of the sets, serving tea and more as the AD. In fact, way into the making of Karan Arjun, neither Salman Khan nor Shah Rukh Khan were aware of the fact that the AD who has been telling them about the scene and matching continuity is actually the director Rakesh Roshan's son.

NEVER AFRAID TO ADMIT HIS MISTAKES...

Hrithik had certain ideas about how he wanted to portray Emperor Akbar in Jodhaa Akbar. When he was dubbing for the film, Karan Malhotra, then assistant to director Ashutosh Gowariker made some suggestions, which were initially rebuffed and rejected by the actor. When he saw the final version, he began seeing Malhotra's point of view and gave extra dates to re-dub the film over again. So impressed he was with Malhotra, that he also agreed to play Amitabh Bachchan's iconic character for an Agneepath remake marking Malhotra's directorial debut.

THE SCENT OF THE MAN...

Hrithik uses a different perfume for every character he plays, to enable him to get into the mood and mannerisms of that character. A unique approach that many of the actors from Hollywood and Bollywood use.

HRITHIK IS PRETTY PASSIONATE ABOUT HIS WHEELS...

Boys and their toys - isn't a myth, it is a fact that no one can argue about, at least for Hrithik cars have always been his passion. In fact, with his first pay of Rs 100 that he received for shaking a leg next to Jeetendra in the 1980 melodrama Aasha, Hrithik Roshan purchased 10 Hot Wheels cars.

A CHILD AT HEART...

Hrithik has been a superstar for eons, but he is someone who is extremely close to his family. He not only maintains a lovely relationship with his parents and immediate family, he was very close to his grandparents too. In fact, his nickname Duggu is given by his grandmother who wanted it to sync with Guddu (Rakesh Roshan's nickname).

SOME PROMISES WERE HARDER TO KEEP...

When Hrithik and Suzanne decided to part ways, there was a shock-wave across the industry, Bollywood's sweethearts parting ways made the Hrithik fans stop believing in love, but the way the couple has been dignified and mature in their separation tells you theirs was a happy-ever-after despite the divorce.

TOGETHER ALWAYS

Suzanne and Hrithik having maintained their cordial and respectful relationship post divorce, sets the bar really high. With no drama only understanding we saw Suzanne moving in with Hrithik so that the kids could have both the parents during the lockdown and just this very new year, the whole family along with their new partners brought in the new year together. If that's not love what is?

THE LONG WAIT...

With both Vikram Vedha and Fighter missing to create the spark at the box office, Hrithik Roshan fans are growing restless but the actor is set to serve them with War 2, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster. The film set the bar very high for two hero films, which never had charisma of that calibre. But the wait is about to end with Hrithik pairing up with Kiara Advani, John Abraham and Jr. NTR for this whammy!
