Ahead of International Women’s Day, Innovate UK has honored a new cohort of women entrepreneurs through the Women in Innovation Awards 2025.
Among the 50 winners are Indian-origin businesswomen, Divya Varma, Kavya Jain, and Priya Guliani, recognized for their contributions to medical technology, inclusive education, and secure digital identity, respectively.

Divya Varma, chief quality assurance/regulatory affairs officer of BirthGlide Limited, is revolutionizing maternal healthcare with a novel medical device aimed at reducing complications during childbirth. With childbirth intervention rates as high as 44-69 percent among high-risk groups in the UK, BirthGlide’s low-cost device seeks to minimize emergency procedures and improve outcomes for mothers and babies.
Divya has secured four Innovate UK grants to advance BirthGlide’s development. She hopes to inspire future women innovators by fostering inclusivity and mentorship in MedTech.
Kavya Jain, founder of Sensei, is pioneering intelligent tactile design solutions for inclusive education. Inspired by her father’s struggles with vision loss, she developed durable, low-cost tactile wayfinding surfaces to help visually impaired students navigate school environments.
With over 85,000 children in the UK facing accessibility challenges, Sensei’s innovations provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional modifications. Kavya’s work has earned her recognition from Kinneir Dufort, Dezeen, and the One Young World Summit, reinforcing her commitment to making education accessible for all.
Priya Guliani, CEO of EarthID Technology Ltd, is transforming digital identity security with a decentralized platform designed to prevent fraud and enhance financial access. Leveraging her experience in tech leadership and inspired by India’s Aadhaar system, Priya’s platform provides secure personal ID wallets and privacy-preserving verifications.
Recognized among Digital Leaders’ ‘Top 60 Digital Leaders 2024,’ she continues to champion secure, inclusive technology solutions.
