A new report by the National Partnership for Women and Families (NPWF) reveals that Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) women earn just 83 cents for every dollar paid to White, non-Hispanic men, despite being frequently portrayed as the “model minority”.

This gap widens dramatically among subgroups. Bangladeshi, Burmese, and Nepali women earn just 50 to 54 cents on the dollar, according to disaggregated data. Meanwhile, Indian and Taiwanese women are the only groups earning more than White men, earning $1.12 and $1.16, respectively.
