AMEC honorees Rekha Radhakrishnan, Vani Ghanate felicitated in Atlanta
The event celebrated excellence, leadership, and the power of purpose.

Indian American community in Atlanta gathered to celebrate the achievements of Rekha Radhakrishnan and Vani Ghanate, who recently received the Top 20 Global Women of Excellence Award 2025 by the American Multi Ethnic Commission (AMEC).
AMEC honored them at the 13th Annual AMEC Congressional International Women’s Day Celebrations, held last month, at Capitol Hill, Washington. The event was anchored by U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis
The community event held at the Madras Chettinad restaurant in Atlanta brought together prominent community leaders and well-wishers including Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat, founder and chairman of AKMG; Annapurna Bhat, president of the Georgia Karnataka Doctors Association; Cynthia Edwards, Rotary District Governor and former AMEC awardee; Deronte Smith, co-chair of AMEC Georgia and Nikita Shah Kothari, chairperson of the JITO Ladies Wing (JLW) Atlanta chapter.
Jyothsna Hegde from NRI Pulse and Khyati Shah from Feelings Magazine congratulated both awardees and delivered a talk on the importance of women empowerment. They also applauded AMEC’s continued efforts to provide platforms for women’s recognition and growth.
Several speakers throughout the evening highlighted the honorees' leadership and community service. Rekha Radhakrishnan was recognized for her motivational and mentoring efforts, while Vani Ghanate was commended for her entrepreneurial contributions through DhoomDB and involvement in social initiatives like Food4Lives.
The event concluded with a felicitation by Narendrabhai Patel, owner of Madras Chettinad. Mustafa Ajmeri, AMEC Chairman - Atlanta GA Chapter acknowledged the support of Krish Pallath and Ashish Ghanate in ensuring the smooth conduct of the program.
AMEC, founded by Dr Vijay G Prabhakar, is a bipartisan grassroots organization that promotes gender equality and community empowerment. The annual awards recognize women from diverse fields making significant societal contributions.
