Ameet Mallik to address Northwestern engineering commencement​

Mallik will speak at the McCormick School of Engineering’s doctoral hooding and master’s degree recognition ceremony

Chief executive officer of ADC Therapeutics, Ameet Mallik, is set to deliver the keynote address at the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University on June 16.

Mallik will speak at the doctoral hooding and master’s degree recognition ceremony, part of the university’s 2025 graduation events scheduled to take place at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

In May 2022, he took over as CEO of ADC Therapeutics, a global, commercial-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for the treatment of hematologic cancers and solid tumors.

Prior to joining ADC Therapeutics, Mallik served as chief executive officer of Rafael Holdings. His career spans over 25 years in the life sciences industry, including more than 16 years at Novartis, where he held multiple senior roles such as vice president and head of U.S.

Oncology, gobal head of marketing, value and access, and regional leadership across Latin America and Canada.

Mallik also serves on the board of  Atara Biotherapeutics and advises Juvena Therapeutics. In addition to his corporate leadership roles, he is chair of the Board of Trustees of NJ LEEP, a college access program for underserved youth.

He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, in addition to a master’s degree in biotechnology and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Northwestern Engineering.

Apart from Mallik, Matthew Skaruppa (’04), chief financial officer at Duolingo will address the McCormick Undergraduate Convocation.

“Matthew and Ameet exemplify the diverse and impactful career paths that a Northwestern Engineering education can lead to,” said Christopher Schuh, dean of the McCormick School of Engineering. “Their successful journeys in finance and biotechnology, respectively, will undoubtedly inspire our graduates as they embark on their own careers,” he added.
