Indian chess prodigy and current national number one, Grandmaster (GM) Arjun Erigaisi, delivered a stunning performance in the Titled Tuesday online chess tournament hosted by Chess.com. The 21-year-old achieved a remarkable score of 10 out of 11 points, securing first place in a field of over 900 competitors, including some of the world's top-ranked players.

Erigaisi’s journey to victory was highlighted by wins over chess legends, including World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen, World No. 2 Fabiano Caruana, and former World Championship challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi.
Despite a solitary loss to World No. 3 Hikaru Nakamura, Erigaisi's consistent performance ensured his second Titled Tuesday triumph, following his maiden victory in November 2023.
This victory comes after Erigaisi joined an elite group of players to cross the coveted 2800 rating threshold in 2024, a feat accomplished by only 16 grandmasters in chess history. However, the young champion remains grounded, emphasizing personal growth and the satisfaction of strong performances over numerical achievements.
His victory underscores India's growing prominence on the global chess stage, with Erigaisi leading the charge. The tournament win further cements his reputation as a rising star in international chess.
