Punyo Nampi, a distinguished chemistry graduate from Arunachal Pradesh, has secured the highly competitive Chancellor’s International Scholarship at the University of Warwick, England, marking a remarkable academic achievement.
Nampi, daughter of Punyo Yakang and Late Punyo Tado, hails from Ziro in the Lower Subansiri district. She completed her B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling, where she topped her batch in 2022. Following this, she successfully cleared the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) and pursued a Master’s degree in Chemistry at IIT Madras, graduating with First-Class Honours, reported The Arunachal Times.
The Chancellor’s International Scholarship is a prestigious award granted to only 42 outstanding students worldwide across various PhD programs. Nampi will pursue her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Warwick, a member of the Russell Group and ranked 69th globally in the QS World Rankings for 2025.
