Prime Video has announced that the second season of its hit musical drama Bandish Bandits, will release on Dec. 13. The platform unveiled the trailer, revealing a continuation of the story that garnered attention in 2020 for its exploration of Hindustani classical music and modern ambitions.
The new season follows Radhe (Ritwik Bhowmik) and Tamanna (Shreya Chaudhry) as they navigate challenges in their personal and professional lives. Radhe works to uphold his family’s musical legacy after the death of his grandfather, Pandit ji (Naseeruddin Shah), while Tamanna pursues her artistic goals at a prestigious music school. The season will culminate in a competitive India Band Championship, where both characters’ bands face off, adding tension to their relationship.
Director Anand Tiwari said the second season builds on the first with deeper storytelling. “After the acclaim for Season 1, we aimed to push the boundaries and tell a story that remains engaging and rooted in its context,” Tiwari said.
The returning cast includes Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang, and Kunaal Roy Kapur, alongside new members such as Divya Dutta and Yashaswini Dayama.
Reflecting on his role, Ritwik Bhowmik noted the character’s evolving responsibilities. “Radhe’s journey is about embracing the weight of family traditions in a rapidly changing world,” he said. Shreya Chaudhry highlighted Tamanna’s growth as she grapples with ambition and legacy, stating, “This season reflects the struggles many face while chasing their dreams.”
Bandish Bandits Season 2 will stream on Prime Video in India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
