Bihar minister gets India-UK Achievers Honours 2025

The award is open to Indian students and alumni who have studied in the UK and made remarkable professional and social contributions

Bihar’s Industry and Tourism Minister, Nitish Mishra, was honored with the India-UK Achievers Honours 2025 in the Government and Politics category at a prestigious ceremony held in London on Feb.12. The event recognized the achievements of Indian students and alumni from UK institutions. The awards celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields.

"Honored to receive the India-UK Achievers Award 2025 in London," Mishra wrote on X after receiving the award.

Mishra has been credited as a state minister with driving reforms in Bihar through technology. A statement highlighted that his strong UK ties have helped him introduce global best practices to Bihar. He is a Harvard Kennedy School alumnus and holds a postgraduate degree in Global Political Economy from the University of Hull. He also studied history at the University of Delhi and completed his MBA from the FORE School of Management, New Delhi, and the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands.

The India-UK Achievers Honours are organized by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) UK in collaboration with the UK Department for Business and Trade, British Council, Universities UK International, Chevening, UK Council for International Student Affairs, London Higher, and UCAS. 

An 11-member jury selected winners from a large pool of applicants. Each category had five shortlisted contenders covering Government and Politics, Art, Culture, Entertainment and Sports, Business and Entrepreneurship, Society, Policy and Law, Education, Science and Innovation, and Media and Journalism.

The award is open to Indian students and alumni who have studied in the UK and made remarkable professional and social contributions. A special felicitation ceremony occurred at the Cholmondeley Room and Terrace of the British Parliament (House of Lords), attended by Indian and British dignitaries.
