Members of the Canadian Hindu community gathered outside the Bangladeshi Consulate in Toronto to protest the ongoing persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh on Dec. 11. The community shared details of the protest in X post.
The protest, organized by Canadian Hindu Volunteers, was sparked by reports of violent attacks, systemic discrimination, and the destruction of sacred sites faced by the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. Demonstrators expressed their collective outrage over what they described as a “genocide” carried out under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus.
The demonstrators alleged that ancient Hindu temples were destructed, religious leaders were murdered or imprisoned, and Hindu professionals were being targeted, many of whom, they say, have been forcibly removed from their jobs, leaving them destitute.

The protestors urged the Canadian government and international bodies to take decisive action. They called on Canadian citizens to write to their elected officials, urging them to raise the issue in Parliament and to push for diplomatic pressure and sanctions against the Bangladeshi regime.
As the demonstration unfolded, the protesters made it clear that the fight for justice for Hindus in Bangladesh was not an isolated issue, but rather a global human rights crisis.

The rally concluded with a call for international solidarity, emphasizing that every voice and action matters in securing the safety and rights of vulnerable minorities.
The Canadian Hindu community said that they continue to stand firm in its demand for action, vowing to raise awareness and press for accountability until the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh are brought to an end.
Earlier on Dec.9, Indian Americans also gathered in front of the White House in Washington DC to protest against attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
