CaresGlobal, a U.S.-based organization that advocates for Human rights and education has established a new classroom in Jodhpur, Rajasthan to provide quality education to Pakistani minority refugee children.

The classroom, inaugurated on April 6, is a collaborative effort with Mother World Trust, a nonprofit with a strong track record in grassroots education and healthcare. The Jodhpur facility follows the success of its first refugee classroom in Ahmedabad.

As part of the collaboration, the Trust will provide full scholarships—including tuition, books, uniforms, and transportation—to underprivileged children—many of whom have faced religious persecution and systemic barriers to formal education due to visa restrictions and lack of documentation.

The classroom’s curriculum is designed by local school principal Reshma Malani and Vinita Singh, STEM coordinator and Math teacher at an American high school. Reshma, whose family is originally from Sindh, Pakistan, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, “As someone who understands the trauma refugee families endure, I’m proud to be part of this movement. Education isn’t just a service—it’s a basic human right.”

Commenting on the initiative, Richa Gautam, executive director of CaresGlobal, said, “These children not only suffer persecution in Pakistan but are often further stigmatized in India due to their origin from an ‘enemy state’ and lack of proper visa status. In Jodhpur, we found 60 children who had not attended school since arriving in India. Some girls never accessed formal education in Pakistan due to the threat of abductions. That’s where CaresGlobal stepped in—to ensure they have the chance to learn and grow. We’re fortunate to have the support of Mother World Trust.”

Rajendra Gurjar, chairman of Mother World Trust, emphasized the organization's impact stating, “We are actively running a school providing quality education as well as healthcare programs that are transformative in regions with underprivileged communities and marginalized children.”

Manoj Malani, vice president of Mother World Trust, highlighted a future-facing approach, “We’re thrilled to partner with CaresGlobal. Alongside regular and remedial academics, we’re expanding access to cutting-edge science and technology education through mobile science labs. Through education alone, we can steer a child’s life in the right direction.”

The classroom’s inauguration ceremony was attended by Nindiya, a dedicated teacher, and Jai Gomand, operations coordinator for the CaresGlobal Classroom—both of whom play vital roles in daily engagement with the students.
