Indica Pictures is celebrating the fifth Indic Film Utsav with special theatrical screenings and a masterclass at the Galaxy Theaters, Grandscape in Dallas.
The Indic Film Utsav, Indica Pictures’ flagship event, is a global 24/7 online film festival running from Nov. 14 and 17, featuring over 250 films in 32 languages and attracting 75,000+ viewers.
Indica Pictures operates under INDICA, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to reviving Indic knowledge systems and values.
The festival will feature Gandhi Thatha Chettu (Gandhi and the Grandfather Tree), a Telugu indie film by Mythri Movies, on Nov. 16, with filmmakers Padma Malladi and Sesha Sindhu Rao in attendance.
On Nov. 17, Outhouse, a Hindi narrative film starring Sharmila Tagore and Mohan Agashe, will be screened, with Agashe joining the event.
The same day will also showcase Pink Belt, an English documentary by award-winning director John McCrite, produced by Los Angeles-based Aditya Patwardhan, who will be present as well.
A panel discussion featuring US-based Indian filmmakers will be held on Nov. 17, focusing on film pitching, funding, and platforming options like theatrical releases and OTT.
