Dr.Prem Reddy receives Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award

Reddy is the founder of Prime Healthcare, an award-winning health system headquartered in Ontario, California.

Indian American physician, Dr.Prem Reddy has been awarded the Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his contributions to healthcare access and community service.

The Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor within the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program, celebrating those who tackle the nation’s toughest challenges through volunteerism and service.

Reddy, originally from rural India, founded Prime Healthcare in 2001 to save hospitals and serve communities. Prime Healthcare now includes 44 hospitals and over 300 outpatient locations in 14 states, employing more than 45,000 individuals. Since 2010, the organization has provided over US$ 12 billion in community benefit activities.

Reddy’s philanthropic efforts extend globally through the Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation and the Prime Healthcare Foundation, with combined assets of US$ 1.3 billion donated by Dr. Reddy and his family. 

Additionally, he also established the California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM) in 2018, promoting health equity and innovative medical education.

His efforts have also earned him the inaugural Human Values Award from the World Forum for Ethics in Business and a lifetime achievement award from Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. He was also recognized by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.
