Elon Musk hosts Indian business leaders at SpaceX in Texas

Elon Musk hosted a delegation of prominent Indian business leaders at SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Texas on Jan.17, emphasizing the potential for stronger ties between the United States and India. The event was organized by the India Global Forum (IGF) and led by its founder, Manoj Ladwa.
“Things are trending positive. I’m certainly in favor of lowering trade barriers to increase commerce between the US and India,” Musk stated during a moderated discussion, highlighting the importance of enhancing bilateral economic ties.
Reflecting on India’s rich heritage, he added, “India is one of the ancient civilizations, and a very great and very complex one.”

The delegation, which included leading figures such as Prashant Ruia, director, Essar Capital; Jay Kotak, co-head, Kotak811; Ritesh Agarwal, founder and CEO, OYO; Kalyan Raman, CEO, Flipkart; Aryaman Birla, director, Aditya Birla Management Corporation; Nilesh Ved, chairman, Apparel Group; and author Amish Tripathi, witnessed the launch and booster catch of SpaceX’s Starship Flight 7. They also toured the facility, gaining insights into SpaceX’s ambitious projects.
Discussions during the visit touched on critical topics, including technology’s role in finance and regulation, space and AI innovation, and India’s growing global influence. Musk shared updates on SpaceX, Tesla, and Neuralink, emphasizing the transformative potential of technology. “The goal of SpaceX is to expand the scope and scale of consciousness beyond what we know to understand what questions to ask about the answer that is the universe,” he explained.
Musk also highlighted advancements in artificial intelligence, noting, “We’re pretty confident that soon Grok 3 will be the most sophisticated AI in the world.”
Ladwa reflected on the event’s significance, stating, “This event underscores the growing importance of collaboration between India and global pioneers in shaping a sustainable and technology-driven future. As the world’s most powerful democracy transitions to a Trump presidency, meaningful dialogue is more important than ever in these challenging times.
