Elon University’s board of trustees has named its Student Investment Fund in honor of Indian American dean Raghu Tadepalli.

The announcement was made during a special luncheon organized to honor Tadepalli’s leadership of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business since 2012.  It was attended by trustees, students and university leaders.

“While helping the school earn national recognition, Dean Tadepalli has transformed the Love School of Business, creating hands-on learning experiences that set Elon students apart,”  Elon president Connie Ledoux Book said. “The Student Investment Fund is a perfect reflection of his vision for engaged, real-world education, and the trustees were proud to honor him in this way.”

Board of trustees chair Dave Porter praised Tadepalli’s legacy, highlighting growth in enrollment, program innovation and faculty capacity. “Under Raghu’s guidance, the school has achieved three AACSB International reaccreditations — all with no recommendations. That’s not just rare; it’s remarkable,” he said. “It speaks to the quality of the programs, the faculty, and the standards he has championed.”

Renamed as the Dean Raghu G. Tadepalli Student Investment Fund, the fund will provide experiential learning in portfolio management, security analysis and financial strategy.
Since 2012, Tadepalli has expanded the faculty by more than 60 percent, launched six new undergraduate majors, introduced two master’s programs and championed global partnerships. His efforts have helped elevate the business school to No. 38 in Poets&Quants’ national rankings for undergraduate business programs.

Tadepalli, a recognized marketing scholar, joined Elon after serving as dean at Babson College’s Olin Graduate School of Business. His career spans roles at Xavier University, North Dakota State University and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
