The Global Indian Diaspora Foundation is set to organize an online webinar titled “Issues & Challenges for the Indian Diaspora: Navigating Visa and Consular Matters in the United States” on Dec.2, 2024. This event will address pressing concerns surrounding visa policies, immigration procedures, and consular matters impacting the Indian community in the US.
The webinar will feature prominent speakers, including Mary Kennedy, a noted immigration attorney, as the keynote speaker. Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India, will join as the guest of honor, bringing valuable insights from a diplomatic perspective. The discussion will be moderated by Abhinav Raina, general secretary of the Global Indian Diaspora Foundation, with opening remarks by Rakesh Malhotra, the organization’s president.
Key topics on the agenda include updates on US visa restrictions, immigration policy changes, challenges related to H-1B visa limitations, and the implications of potential H-4 work restriction reforms. Participants will also explore specific hurdles faced by Indian immigrants in navigating consular and legal processes.
The foundation encourages attendees to submit questions in advance regarding issues such as visa categories, H-1B, H4, green cards, and I-140 processing to ensure comprehensive expert responses during the event.
