Global Organization of People of Indian Origin’s (GOPIO) International Coordinator for South Asia, Dheeraj Ahuja, organized a meeting and interactive session under the GOPIO-Delhi NCR Chapter at the India International Center in New Delhi.
The gathering brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, Supreme Court advocates, and professionals from various fields to plan the upcoming GOPIO convention in Brisbane and relaunch the GOPIO Chamber of Commerce.
GOPIO leaders also met with Ministry of External Affairs Spokesman and Joint Secretary Randhir Kumar Jaiswal, joined by the newly appointed Deputy Consul General to Atlanta, Sreejan Shandilya, and GOPIO Life Member Munish Gupta. They discussed community issues such as dual nationality, Aadhaar cards for NRIs, and plans for the Brisbane convention.
The Brisbane convention, themed “The Diaspora’s Role in Shaping Future Technologies,” will highlight NRI/PIO technologists, entrepreneurs, and Indian incubation centers. It will also include sessions on social, cultural, youth, professional, and literary topics to engage all segments of the diaspora. Post-convention tours to Fiji, New Zealand, and Sydney are also being planned.

They presented him with the book “Global Indian Diaspora: GOPIO Making an Impact” and discussed ways the diaspora can support Africa’s development.
In the event, renowned author, educator, and business consultant Shiv Khera attended the meeting and presented the first copy of his new book, “Live While You Are Alive.” The book will be officially released by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Jan. 25.
