Since President Donald Trump assumed office in January 2025, two unannounced yet significant changes to the visa stamping Dropbox rules have impacted non-immigrant individuals and families of Indian origin residing in the United States.
Around Feb 11-12, 2025, the eligibility for Dropbox for the same classification of visa was altered from those visas that expired in the past 48 months to a shorter 12 months. Impact: Many got disqualified from availing of Dropbox and now have to resort to a time-consuming and cumbersome in-person interview process for which there is hardly an appointment slot available.
