India House in London celebrates Christmas with Indian delicacies

Apostolic Nuncio to UK, HE Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía even cut a Christmas cake to kickstart the festive season.

The India House in London was decked up on Dec.13 to celebrate the festive season. Ahead of Christmas 2024, the building was decked up in beautiful lights and welcomed key guests.

The reception welcomed the Apostolic Nuncio to UK, HE Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía, and members of the House of Commons, councillors, business and media personalities, as well as members of the Indian diaspora. 

Vikram Doraiswami, Indian High Commissioner to the UK and the Archbishop also lit the Christmas tree and cut the Christmas cake, marking the joyous occasion.



“In all parts of India, joy of the festive season is celebrated with equal gusto by all members of all communities and that to me is both the magic of the festive season and the magic of India,” said Vikram Doraiswami.

The evening featured a fun "Jazz and Carols" concert by the renowned Indian tenor Anando Mukerjee and Bernardi Music. Their mesmerizing performance added to the festive spirit of the celebration at India House.

The highlight of the event was a wide array of Indian delicacies served for the guests. The India House showcased Indian food and beverage produce, featuring coffee from Coorg and Koraput, Indian wine, spirits, and chocolate from the finest organic Kerala cacao, Indian snacks, and dessert with Indian flavors.

This festive celebration was held for the second year in a row.
