In February 2025, India secured the 12th spot in the list of the world’s most powerful countries, reaffirming its growing influence on the global stage. The United States was ranked as the most powerful country.
This ranking, released by Forbes on Feb. 1, is based on a comprehensive analysis of multiple factors, including economic conditions, international alliances, and military strength.
India's economy is one of the fastest-growing in the world. As of 2025, it ranks 5th in global GDP standings, with an estimated GDP of $3.55 trillion. This positions India among the world's largest and most influential economies, trailing only the United States, China, Germany, and Japan.
