Indian-American businesswoman buys Matthew Perry’s house
Verma-Lallian shared images and videos of the property on her social media, documenting a traditional Hindu 'puja' ceremony that she and her family performed before moving in.

An Indian-American real estate developer and film producer, Anita Verma-Lallian, has purchased the Los Angeles home of late actor Matthew Perry in Pacific Palisades for US$ 8.55 million.
Perry, known for his role in the television show Friends, was found dead in the same residence in December 2023. According to autopsy reports, Perry died from "acute effects of ketamine," leading to an accidental drowning in his hot tub at the age of 54.
Verma-Lallian shared images and videos of the property on her social media, documenting a traditional Hindu 'puja' ceremony that she and her family performed before moving in. In her Instagram post, she expressed excitement over the purchase and described the immediate connection she felt with the house.
“The moment I walked into the home, I absolutely fell in love with the features, especially the view of the Pacific Ocean,” she wrote. “We knew it was ‘the one’ and decided to write an offer on it immediately.”
Addressing the house's history, Verma-Lallian stated that her decision to purchase the property had no connection to its previous owner. “As a real estate developer, I believe every property has a history that we may or may not know about. Every home carries the energy that the current owner brings to it,” she added.
“We chose to honor the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life, his immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people,” she continued.She further explained that the 'puja' was a customary blessing to bring positive energy into the new space.
The Pacific Palisades house, built in 1965, sits on 0.4 acres and spans 3,500 square feet. Perry purchased the property in 2020 for US$ 6 million and made several renovations. Verma-Lallian mentioned plans to retain some of the design features, including a distinctive Batman logo in the pool, adding that the house will serve as a perfect vacation home for her family.
Verma-Lallian is the founder and CEO of Arizona Land Consulting, a Phoenix-based real estate investment firm, and Camelback Productions, a local film production company. She is also actively involved in her family’s business, Vermaland, and has hosted political fundraisers, including one for Vice President Kamala Harris.
