Indian American couple expand jewelry brand into India
Angara plans to complement its digital-first model with physical stores in India, offering immersive, personalized fine jewelry experiences soon.

Los Angeles-based jewelry brand Angara has officially entered the Indian market, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion strategy.
Founded by Indian-American entrepreneurs Ankur and Aditi Daga, Angara is now bringing its made-to-order, digitally native model to India’s $100 billion jewelry market.

Established in 2005, Angara has become a digital-first leader in the fine jewelry segment, specializing in colored gemstones, diamonds, and pearls. With deep roots in gemstone craftsmanship that span over 300 years, the brand has over a million customers across the US, UK, and Australia.
Now, with an ambitious goal of becoming a $1 billion brand within five years, the Dagas are bringing their innovative approach to the Indian market.
Reflecting on the brand’s roots and vision for India, Aditi Daga said, “We built Angara as a global brand; personalized, digital-first, and proudly gemstone-led. And now, we return to India not just to launch a business, but to revive a cultural inheritance. Because in a world of fast fashion and mass jewelry, color has soul. And when paired with intent, it becomes a modern heirloom.”
“This is Angara’s homecoming. And my personal one too,” she added, expressing personal connection to the launch.
The company combines AI-driven recommendations with artisanal handcrafting, creating a unique, customer-centric shopping experience. “We have spent nearly two decades perfecting the online jewelry shopping experience for customers across the world, combining centuries of expertise with state-of-the-art technology. Now, we bring that experience to India, offering exceptional quality, unmatched customization, and designs that celebrate individuality,” Ankur Daga said.
With plans to open experiential physical stores in the coming months, Angara aims to blend the ease of digital shopping with the trust and feel of in-person retail.
