Indian American IT professional featured on Close Up Radio
In a two-part interview, Barve, currently a principal architect at T-Mobile, will share insights into his professional journey, personal achievements, and his latest venture, a travel startup called Siesta Global.

Indian American IT professional Abhijit Barve, who has held various key positions in Fortune 500 companies over a career spanning nearly 30 years, is set to be featured on Close Up Radio, a premier news magazine TV program spotlighting the most successful businesses across America.
In a two-part interview, Barve, currently a principal architect at T-Mobile, will share insights into his professional journey, personal achievements, and his latest venture, a travel startup called Siesta Global.
Originally from Mumbai, Barve developed an interest in IT during his time in Switzerland, where he completed high school. He later earned a double major in Computer Science and Business Administration from Augustana College, followed by an MBA from Illinois State University. Reflecting on his career, Barve said, “I am most proud of my persistence and not giving up.”
Barve’s career began in Chicago, where he worked as a software engineer before transitioning to leadership roles. “What sets me apart is my attention to detail and an ability to pinpoint the gaps,” Barve said. “I like to explore new horizons and boundaries. I have an interest in learning new things.”
In addition to his IT career, Barve is preparing to launch a travel startup, Siesta Global, focused on connecting travelers with local experts. “I want to create something that could last beyond me,” Barve said. The idea for the platform, according to him, came during his extensive travels. “It was during one of my adventures that the seed for this platform, which enables direct access to local knowledge, got planted in my mind,” he explained.
Barve also expressed his views on the future of IT. “Despite the buzz about AI, I am not convinced if AI can ever equal human intelligence,” he noted, highlighting that Siesta Global will tap into local human knowledge to enhance travel experiences.
Close Up Radio will air his interview with Jim Masters on, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. Eastern. The second interview with Doug Llewelyn is scheduled for Sept. 26, at the same time.
