Indian American Republicans criticize Kamala Harris’s policies, rally Behind Trump
Former Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy are among those speaking out against Harris as the 2024 election approaches.

Three prominent Indian American Republicans have criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running for president on the Democratic ticket, over her policies on immigration, healthcare, and foreign affairs.
Former Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy are among those speaking out against Harris as the 2024 election approaches.
Former Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, in a social media ad, attacked Harris’s Medicare plan, claiming it would extend healthcare to 12 million illegal immigrants. "Her plan will drain the Medicare system, a program seniors have paid into their entire lives," Jindal stated. He further warned that it would increase wait times for medical appointments and burden the U.S. healthcare system.

Jindal, who ran for president in 2016, also emphasized that this would come with an enormous cost—nearly US$ 2 trillion. "Kamala’s plan is nothing but a gold-plated invitation to more illegal immigration," he said.
Nikki Haley, former South Carolina governor and a 2024 Republican primary candidate, echoed Jindal’s criticism during an interview with Fox News. She emphasized her concerns over Harris’s immigration and foreign policy positions, arguing, "Harris and her running mate Tim Walz lack the experience to handle international threats. Their actions, like supporting the Iran deal, endanger American security."
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, a strong Trump ally, labeled Harris a "radical liberal" who "can’t produce results" during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania last week, according to Fox News. Ramaswamy has been actively campaigning for Trump in battleground states, targeting undecided voters and boosting support for the former president.
Kash Patel, another prominent Indian American Republican and a close Trump associate, has joined the campaign efforts, targeting Indian American voters in swing states. Patel, a former top official in the Trump administration, has been instrumental in promoting Trump's policies and is rumored to have plans to lead the CIA if Trump is reelected, according to The New York Times.
