Shreyas Navare, an Indian cartoonist and creative entrepreneur, launched Hail to the Chiefs!, an exhibition series of caricatures of U.S. Presidents, for the celebrations of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

The exhibition series will travel across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Featuring his watercolor caricatures of U.S. Presidents, this series offers an engaging and artistic exploration of America's early leaders.

The inaugural exhibition was held from Feb.25 to Mar.4 at ImpactHub New York Metropolitan Area. It kicked off in New York City, the birthplace of George Washington’s presidential inauguration.

It showcased exclusive prints of Navare’s caricatures of the first five U.S. Presidents—George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe.

Special closing reception held on Mar. 4, featured an address by David Sweeney from the White House Historical Association. He discussed the role of the Association, the origin of the White House, its connection to the nation’s founding, and how The People’s House is being gifted to America in honor of the 250th anniversary.

Through his expressive and meticulously hand-painted artworks, Navare captures the essence of each of these pivotal figures, bringing to life the personalities of America's early Commanders-in-Chief.

Navare shared, "It gave me great joy to research the Presidents—from the blue coat of George Washington to the blue eyes of John Adams—as I set about rendering these American visionaries through my brush."

The exhibition in New York City sets the stage for what promises to be a broader national journey. Hail to the Chiefs! invites audiences to engage, reflect, and celebrate America’s enduring spirit through a fusion of history, art, and humor.

Navare is based in New York City and was the editorial cartoonist for Hindustan Times from 2007 to 2018. Known for his sharp wit and political insights, he has covered elections in both India and the U.S., with his work exhibited globally.

He has published two books of cartoons with HarperCollins. The first book, titled "The World in a Cartoon," was published in 2010, and the second, "Cartoons of the Decade," was released in 2018. The foreword for the first book was written by the 11th President of India, Dr. Pranab Mukherjee. Both books feature a selection of Navare's political cartoons, offering humorous and insightful commentary on a wide range of global issues, including elections in India and the United States.
