Indian-origin students earn Georgia Univ’s Foundation Fellowship
Fifteen bright Indian scholars have won the Foundation Fellowship, administered by UGA’s Morehead Honors College.

Several Indian-origin students have been awarded the University of Georgia’s highest academic honor, the Foundation Fellowship. They are recognized for their academic brilliance and leadership.
Among the upcoming cohorts, some of the names from the 2025 to 2028 Foundation Fellowship classes include Khushi Mehta, Ashini Patel, Kunal Vohra, Suhan Kacholia, Aryan Thakur, Nikita Jha, Sloka Sudhin, Chinmoy Joshi, Aarov Malhotra, Harshil Joshi, Shriya Kumari Garg, Diya Akshila Garrepally, Aashar Bakshi, and Jaabili Gosukonda.
Administered by UGA’s Morehead Honors College, the Foundation Fellowship was established in 1972 by trustees of the UGA Foundation to enrich the academic journeys of exceptional undergraduates. Selected through a highly competitive process each year, 100 new Fellows were chosen from a pool of over 1,000 applicants nationwide.
The Fellowship provides extensive academic and enrichment opportunities. In-state students receive a $15,050 annual stipend in addition to the Zell Miller Scholarship, while out-of-state students are awarded a $25,900 stipend along with full tuition waivers. Fellows also benefit from study-abroad programs, including a Maymester at the University of Oxford, multiple domestic and international trips, $10,000 in individual travel-study grants, and up to $2,000 for research and academic conference expenses.
This prestigious program not only recognizes academic excellence but also seeks students who demonstrate leadership, creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a strong commitment to community engagement. Fellows participate in faculty-led seminars, connect with global scholars, and become part of a vibrant, intellectually driven cohort of peers.
