Indian restaurateur in Paris hosts Paralympic players

Paris is home to many Indian settlers. A vast majority of them are either from Punjab or Gujarat.
Arvind Ahir, is one such member of the Indian Diaspora, who has run a restaurant in the French capital for more than 30 years. Called Gandhi Ji, the restaurant has become synoynmous with Indian food in the French city.
After the conclusion of the Paralympics, he invited the entire Indian contingent to his restaurant and felicitated all players and officials.

Ahir feleicitating the athletes at his restaurant. / “We are so excited that our sports stars have done so well in Paris Olympics and Paralympics,’ he said. “I made an open offer that any member of the Indian contingent or any family member of Indian players are welcome to enjoy our hospitality. We would do whatever best we can do to make sure that our players do their best. Their excellent performance makes us hold our heads high in the society we live in," he added.
Ahir expressed regret that the Indian contingent for the summer Olympic Games was unable to visit the restaurant for food due to the strict security arrangements and restrictions. "They had problems with the quality and variety of food that was made available to them in the Olympic village. Only once I got a chance to deliver some food packets to our athletes in the Olympic village,” he revealed.
